I really like it overall! Definitely a good change. 2 thoughts... - I might put a sans serif font in the header since there's one in the title and date for the posts. - I feel like it needs a little more color. Not a lot, but a little... maybe blue blocks on either side or something? Or if you want something less drastic, maybe the line below the header could be blue and wider?
I agree with Carrie and Sarah, it looks just a little bland. I think you should add either one more color to the design or a pattern, like the blocks Carrie suggested, to define it more. But I like where you're going with it!
hmm, i like it! the "less is more" thing is really in style, so i really like the simplicity and the neatness of it. :) although, do you think it fits you? because that's the most important part, and you strike me as the person who might have a blog with deeper and richer colors and a victorian wall paper design or something on the side. but if you like it this way, go for it!
Thanks for the advice, girls! I've made a couple alterations accordingly, but I still kept it simple like I wanted. @Jenna- I know it sounds silly, but I have re-defined my style a bit. Nothing too drastic, but I'm definitely a fan of 'less is more'. And, you're right, I love bold, deep colors like crimson or navy blue; but it's hard to find templates with those colors that aren't tacky :P
